What You’ll Do:
  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values
  • Values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates
  • Client service
  • Maintains regular, professional contact to create and foster relationships with client representatives
  • Researches and resolves issues and requests in a timely manner, including issues requiring direct interactions
  • Conducts reviews and works to provide guidance on compliance related matters. Provides ongoing technical/consulting service regarding compliance and legislation to clients
  • Independently interfaces with clients, vendors, and associates to solve problems/questions relating to employee benefit programs
  • Client meetings
  • Participates in client and prospect meetings, and may lead meeting with guidance
  • Assists in and prepares materials and collateral for meetings and discussions
  • Records and reports meeting discussion and action items
  • Carrier and vendor management
  • Oversees new vendor/carrier implementations. Meets with carriers independently as required with primary responsibility for renewal management and enrollment process. Facilitates enrollment meetings
  • Reviews carrier, vendor, and plan documents and contracts
  • Maintains regular contact with carrier and vendor representatives to ensure client advocacy and that issues are being resolved in a timely manner
  • Communication and education
  • Trains clients on technology and resources available
  • Works with clients to develop short and long-term employee communication objectives
  • Creates member facing collateral pieces to promote and clarify benefit program features
  • Leads in person, virtual, and telephonic sessions to provide information and plan details to participants
  • Uses regular interactions to update clients on carrier and vendor partner features and services
  • Training and Mentoring
  • Mentors and trains other Account Managers
  • Internal partnerships
  • Actively participates and contributes to client service team operations
  • Effectively communicates client updates to appropriate team members
  • Assists with other team duties as needed – i.e., position vacancy, cover personal time off, etc.

You Should Have::
  • Five+ years of similar or related experience
  • Perfer an Associates degree or experience equivalent to a degree
  • Excellent written and communication skills including good listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to consistently display a proactive, positive client focus and demonstrate a dedicated sense of urgency in serving their interests.
  • The ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated the commitment to work through projects to completion
  • High degree of critical thinking, organizational and decision making skills.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits markets and employee benefit laws.
  • Strong reasoning skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data and can clearly communicate ideas in a concise manner
  • Ability to use the computer to create and retrieve Word documents and Excel worksheets and to enter and find information in agency management systems
  • An understanding of agency workflow procedures, sales and service processes with a growing understanding of technology applications to workflow and quality control.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • The ability to be persuasive while maintaining good relationships with peers, carriers and clients
  • A high degree of tact and diplomacy
  • A state Life and Health license and will fulfill continuing education requirements to retain licensing
  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other programs
  • The willingness to complete additional duties and take on additional responsibilities as the need arises
